Questions You May Have
How do I know if my insurance covers nutrition counseling?
We've put together this handy guide that you can download to help verify your nutrition counseling benefits.
Can you verify my benefits?
Yes, we're happy to verify your benefits for you. Please call our office at 707-285-7675 or schedule a free consultation to learn about your coverage. If you have Anthem or Blue Cross Blue Shield, please provide your insurance information in advance of the consultation using the consultation booking form as benefit verifications must be performed over the phone and cannot be done during the consultation.
What is my copay, coinsurance, or deductible?
Registered dietitians are considered specialists and your specialist copay/coinsurance may apply to your services. Please refer to your insurance card for copay/coinsurance information. You may also have an annual deductible that must be met prior to insurance paying. Please confirm your benefits with your insurance company. Any patient responsibility for services rendered will be billed to the card on file once claims have been processed.
Can I pay with my HSA/FSA card?
Yes, most HSA/FSA providers allow you to spend your pre-tax dollars on our services. Occasionally your HSA/FSA provider may require a letter of medical necessity signed by your doctor to approve your payment. We’ll work with you and your doctor to make sure you have the documentation you need.
Do you accept Medicare?
Unfortunately Medicare does not cover nutrition counseling for gastrointestinal diagnoses. This is true for all dietitians, not just Romanwell.
What if I have two insurance plans?
We are only able to bill your primary insurance plan for services.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
In most cases, a referral is not required to work with a dietitian on our team. We'll let you and your doctor know if a referral is required and will coordinate with your insurance company to make sure they have all of the necessary documentation they need to approve services.
